In the press meet at Chennai, Rajinikanth announced that he has completed 80 per cent of the shooting for his upcoming film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel.

However, this is the first time that such a technology will be used for Rajini, who is known for his evergreen appeal and charisma.

The script work are currently in progress, and the makers are planning to rope in some of the best technicians and artists for the film.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for his LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) films, has already confirmed that Thalaivar 171 will not be a part of his LCU and will be a standalone film.
