The Makkal Selvan of Tamil cinema, Vijay Sethupathi, is on a roll with multiple projects in his kitty. The versatile actor, who has impressed the audience with his diverse roles, is now reportedly in talks to join the superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 171.

According to sources, the film’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has delivered his last blockbuster Leo,  has approached Vijay Sethupathi for a pivotal role in the film. The role is said to be a challenging one, which will showcase Vijay Sethupathi’s acting prowess.

The actor is yet to give his nod for the project, as he is busy with his other commitments. It's worth noting that the versatile star has already worked with Superstar Rajinikanth in Darbar. Thalaivar 171 is expected to be another action-packed entertainer from Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for his gripping screenplay and stylish narration.

The film will mark the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who are both huge fans of each other. The film is likely to go on floors soon, after Rajinikanth completes his current project Vettaiyan with TJ Gnanavel.

The action scenes in Thalaivar 171 will be choreographed by Anbariv, the duo of Anbu and Arivu, who have worked on films like Madras, Kabali, Kaala, KGF: Chapter 1, and Chapter 2. They are known for their realistic and raw stunts that suit the mood and tone of the films they work on. 

The film also reunites Rajinikanth with Anirudh Ravichander, who composed the music for his previous films . His music is sure to add more energy and excitement to Thalaivar 171, as his latest release Jailer, made the historical viral hit among worldwide fans. The director already confirmed that he is currently scripting for Thalaivar 171, which is expected to go on floors soon.
