In a revelation that has sent waves of anticipation through the hearts of Rajinikanth's fans, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has spilled the beans on the highly awaited 'Thalaivar 171.' The director, known for his blockbuster film 'Leo' starring Vijay, has declared that the script for Rajinikanth's 171st cinematic venture is in the works, with the much-anticipated shooting scheduled to commence in April next year.

The news comes as a breath of fresh air for Rajinikanth enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting official announcements about the storyline and production details. Director Lokesh, in an appearance on a recent program, shared the exciting update, igniting a surge of enthusiasm among fans. He revealed, "I'm gonna start writing the script from next week. Shoot begins from April."

'Thalaivar 171' is anticipated to be a standalone film, a revelation made by the director in previous interviews. With Lokesh Kanagaraj at the helm, expectations are soaring, especially given the success of his last directorial venture 'Leo,' which soared past the 625+ crore mark worldwide.

Meanwhile Rajinikanth currently shooting for Thalaivar 170 with TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The second schedule of shooting has just been wrapped, and the Superstar to be seen next in Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth,which is coming to theatres on Pongal 2024.
