On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had conveyed the urgent meeting at the Chief Secretariat during which he reviewed the preventive measures and apparatus put in place to tackle the virus.
The six recent cases aren't new to the state as last month, the state had reported with three cases of Coronavirus making Kerala the first Indian state to get affected with the virus.
The deadliest epidemic had resulted in a decrease in oil prices as the global demand for the oil has been hitting low due to the indefinite closures of the companies, factories, and all the channels of transports.
The Kerala government has declared a holiday of three days for all the educational institutions in the Pathanamthitta district as part of containing the spread of the epidemic.
The minister said that the state government has enhanced and increased the Coronavirus testing in all the airports of the state. The screening has been done for all the passengers who are arriving at the airports.
The Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine said that 96,729 passengers who arrived in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore airports have gone through the screening so far.
India has brought 438 people under the surveillance and of these 438, 225 have completed 28 days of monitoring and tested negative while 189 people are still under the observation.
