Corona: India reports with 28 positive cases till now -Here's the latest update!

The Central government has on Wednesday revealed that 16 Italian nationals who are touring India have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID19) and the sudden increase in the number shockingly implies that the epidemic has been rapidly spreading across the countries for the past few days. 

The uncertain developments from New Delhi say that these 16 out of 21 Italian tourists have been isolated and quarantined at the ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police) facility in Chhawla for further observation and in a short time, India has reported with 28 positive cases of the virus. The reports have stated that these tourists were tested positive exactly one day after an Italian tourist was detected with the virus, making him one among the three positive cases that detected in the last two days.

The group of all these Italians, who were touring Rajasthan, have quarantined in preventive isolation on Tuesday afternoon and now they have been tested positive making India gets added to the list of virus-hit countries. As on Tuesday, India accounted for six positive cases of Coronavirus - of these six, three Indian students of Kerala have been recovered while three others ( one Delhi man, one Telangana techie, and one Italian) have been tested positive in the last two days. With the current count, India currently has 25 positive cases whereas the total number of cases stood at 28.

The reports stated that India has brought 438 people under the surveillance and of these 438, 225 have completed 28 days of monitoring and tested negative while 189 people are still under the observation. On Wednesday Intel corporation has said that one of its employees in Bengaluru has shown the symptoms of the virus and he has been quarantined currently. The company has advised its employees to work from home. As the numbers are likely to elevate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with the Union Ministers and Health officials and reviewed the mechanisms to combat the rise of the epidemic in India.

On Monday, a techie from Telangana, who arrived from Dubai, was one among the cases tested positive with the Virus and Telangana government officials have said that around 36 people who came in contact with this techie have been showing positive symptoms of the virus. The reports say that the techie traveled to Dubai for a company meeting and held interactions with some of the software engineers from Hong Kong who came to Dubai. The Telangana health minister stated that the situation is under control and the government has been installing special wards to handle the positive cases. Along with the Techie, a man from Delhi tested positive on Monday. On Wednesday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan shockingly revealed that the Delhi man, who tested positive with the virus, has infected 6 members of his family in Agra and all of them have tested positive of the virus.

Harsh Vardhan, while addressing the reporters after concluding the meet with Delhi government officials, said that the Center has requested all hospitals in Delhi to develop isolation wards of good quality to get prepared if the capital reports with more positive cases. He further admitted that there have been 28 positive cases in India till now. ( 1 in Delhi, 6 in Agra, 16 Italians and one Indian driver, 1 in Telangana, and 3 in Kerala - of these numbers, 3 in Kerala have been recovered while the rest have been affected).

 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Wednesday tweeted that "Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme." Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined Modi and tweeted that "Holi is a very important festival for we Indians but in the wake of Coronavirus, I've decided not to participate in any Holi Milan celebration this year. I also appeal to everyone to avoid public gatherings&take good care of yourself&your family".
