'No Corona cases in Tamil Nadu, no need to panic' - asserts TN Minister!

While the Indian government has been deploying the mechanisms to contain the spread of Coronavirus as the country has reported with 31 positive cases as on Friday, the health minister of Tamil Nadu said that the state has reported with no positive cases and appealed the people not to get panic about the pandemic.

On Friday, Tamil Nadu Health Minister C Vijayabasker has reviewed the screening mechanisms and apparatus that have been installed in Chennai airport to screen the passengers. While addressing the reporters, the minister said that the state government has enhanced and increased the Coronavirus (COVID19) testing in all the airports of the state. The screening has been done for all the passengers who are arriving at the airports.

By asserting that the state has reported with no positive cases of Corona, the minister appealed to the people not to get panic. He advised the people to follow the preventive measures to prevent themselves from the epidemic and asked the people to approach for medical treatment immediately after developing the symptoms like fever, cough, snooze, and breathing difficulty. He highlighted that the state government has asked private hospitals to install the facilities to treat the patients who show up with the positive symptoms.

Followed by the airports, the railway stations in Tamil Nadu have also started to test the passengers.  The Minister added that the samples of 52 people that were sent to the laboratories for further examinations have returned with negative. He also stated it hasn't proven that the heating temperature would contain the spread. By admitting that containing the spread will be a challenging task, he called on the people for the co-operation towards shielding from the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine said that 96,729 passengers who arrived in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore airports have gone through the screening so far and of these 96,729, about 1,292 passengers were home quarantined till Tuesday whereas five other have been under quarantine in hospitals. The reports say that of 1,292, most of them have completed their 28-day home quarantine period while the rest are under self-observation.
