A team of police officials entered Ranjana's residence in Gerugambakkam near Kundrathur and took her into custody, a day after her controversial conduct went viral on social media. 

Rahman has formally requested the association to retract their complaint within a three-day timeframe and issue an apology to him within 15 days.

Swaminathan had passed away at the age of 98 on Thursday - September 28 in Chennai due to health-related ailments.

The police have launched a probe and several Congress leaders in the state are expressing their condolences to the bereaving family.  

He has also requested everyone to pray for Vijay Antony and his family, and to give them strength and courage to overcome this loss.
