AR Rahman, a renowned composer who is the recipient of an Academy Award, has provided a response to allegations that were made by the Association of Surgeons. The Association of Surgeons asserts that AR Rahman defrauded them of a sum totaling Rs 1.5 crore. The accusation made by the association has been refuted by the composer in a formal legal communication that has been sent to the association.
The composer has also requested an apology and monetary compensation in the amount of Rs 10 crore. In Chennai, the Association of Surgeons filed a formal complaint against Rahman, alleging that he had received a monetary advance of Rs 1.5 crore for his scheduled appearance at their conference in 2018, but ultimately did not fulfill his commitment to attend.
In addition, it was asserted by the individuals that he did not return the funds despite their numerous requests for him to do so. Despite this, Rahman has refuted their claims and stated that he did not receive any sum of money from them in the manner that they have described.
According to his statement, the funds were sent to a third party that has no connection to either him or the company he works for. This third party is completely independent from either of them. In addition to this, he claimed that the organization had used his name for promotional purposes without obtaining his consent or providing him with any prior notice.
Rahman has formally requested the association to retract their complaint within a three-day timeframe and issue an apology to him within 15 days. In the event that these conditions are not met, Rahman has expressed his intention to pursue legal and criminal recourse against the association.
He asserted that the organization had negatively impacted his standing and public perception through the dissemination of inaccurate and harmful remarks. The response to Rahman's notice from the association is still pending.
