Two DMK functionaries and three school students were among the eight people who got arrested in the case, which has reminisced the horrible Pollachi gang rape case. 

The arrested man was later handed over to the Karnataka police and he was then taken under police custody for further investigations. 

The dreadful crime has come to light after the victim has approached the women's helpline following which the concerned police department was informed. 

After the trial, Parasuraman was found guilty of the crime and he has now been sentenced to 15 years in jail along with a fine of Rs 5000.

A case has been registered against these officers under the sections of voluntarily causing hurt and wrongful restraint of the Indian Penal Code.

Moreover, Murugan was the prime accused in the case of murdering former DMK Minister Aladi Aruna.

The incident has happened on March 8 at around 10.30 pm and the accused were nabbed based on the complaint from the actor. 

Following the apprehension, a case was booked against the priest under POCSO Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act. He was then remanded under judicial custody.
