In a shocking piece of news, the Chennai police have arrested two people for sexually assaulting an actor and heisting money and gold from the latter. The incident has happened on March 8 at around 10.30 pm and the accused were nabbed based on the complaint from the actor. 

According to reports, the 38-year-old female actor is living in Valasaravakkam in Chennai and she has worked in supporting roles in a few movies. On March 8 at 10.30 pm, two men had entered her house when she was alone. They threatened and sexually assaulted her. They have also stolen Rs 50,000 in cash and around ten grams of gold after which they fled the place. 

Following the incident, the female actor has filed a complaint with the R9 Valasaravakkam police station. Based on her complaint, the police officials have launched a probe to nab the assailants. The officials had sifted the CCTV footage and identified the accused. Based on that video evidence, the police arrested two people and took them under custody. 

The two people were Selvakumar, a resident of Maduravoyal and Kannadasan, a resident of Ramapuram. The police further said that they have recovered the gold items that the duo had stolen. Along with that, the officials have also seized two vehicles and mobile phones of the accused. After registering a case against them, the accused were produced before a judge of a local court after which they were remanded to judicial custody.
