The film, which will be helmed by the master of entertainment Venkat Prabhu and bankrolled by the prestigious AGS Entertainment, will have the musical magic of Yuvan Shankar Raja.

If this happens, it will be a reunion of sorts for the two actors after 20 years, who have previously worked together in 2003.

But Venkat Prabhu in recent press meet, assured that any official confirmation about the project will only be out after the actor's current project, Leo with Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The film will also feature SJ Suryah as the main antagonist. SJ Suryah has previously worked with Vijay as an actor in Mersal and as a director in Kushi.

The film, which was officially announced recently, will be directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment.

The sources also say that Thalapathy68 will feature more than one villain, and that discussions have already begun with other major actors to play the villains.. 

The film will also mark the reunion of Vijay and music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja after 20 years. They had previously worked together in Puthiya Geethai in 2003.

However, sources close to the project have revealed that he has been approached by Super Good Films to direct Thalapathy 68.

She recently expressed her wish to act alongside Thalapathy Vijay in a promotional event. She also added that Trisha is her role model.

Sun Pictures is rumoured to be producing the film, but there hasn't been any confirmation as of yet.
