Suriya has won the National Award for the best actor for the movie Soorarai Pottru and the honour was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu.  

As Suriya and Soorarai Pottru have made quintessential achievements, the actor has been flooded with wishes and commendations. 

Suriya, who played the lead role as Nedumaran in the movie, received the National Award for best actor for his spectacular performance. 

Kaakha Kaakha is one of the movies that gave a crucial breakthrough for Suriya and it was released in 2003.

While the further excitement grows more, the crew was irked by the fans' leaking images and videos taken on the set. 

Besides the fact that Suriya and director Siva are working together on a new kind of 3D periodic drama, there is also a lot of excitement surrounding the actor's upcoming project.

The official confirmation is yet to come from any of the artists and if it becomes official, it will be another key adaptation in the Tamil cinema industry in line with Ponniyin Selvan.

The movie is described as a historical action drama and recently, the makers unveiled a motion poster that offered a sneak peek and promised a 3D movie that would be released in ten different languages.
