'This one's for you Anbana fans': Actor Suriya shares these pictures for the first time!

Popular actor Suriya has shared his pictures of receiving the National Award for the first time on social media in the midst of being surfaced with commendations from the fans and celebrities for etching a significant milestone. Suriya has won the National Award for the best actor for the movie Soorarai Pottru and the honour was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu.  

Sharing the pictures on social media, Suriya said he is grateful for Soorarai Pottru's director Sudha Kongara. He wrote, "Ever grateful Sudha! Hearty congratulations to all the winners. This one's for you Anbana fans!!." He shared pictures of receiving the award from the President and with his family members. Interestingly, Suriya shared the best actor award with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn. 

Earlier, Devgn congratulated Suriya on the award and on Saturday, Suriya wrote, "Thank you for the love and warmth, sir! So nice to have shared this moment with you...Lots of respect. Waiting for Kaithi n the next Singham." The award was presented to him on Friday at the 68th National Film Award ceremony in Delhi where the best cinema of 2020 was honoured. 

After receiving the award, Suriya said, "Huge honour. Truly grateful to National Film Award jury & GoI. Lot of emotions running in my mind. I have a lot of people to thank...Getting goosebumps. Truly a moment which I'll never forget". The announcement that actor Suriya will be conferred with the National Award was made on July 23, 2022, when he celebrated his birthday. After being picked as a recipient of a prestigious honour, both Suriya and his fans were overjoyed. 

Soorarai Pottru has won the National Award for the best feature film while actress Aparna Balamurali, who played the female lead, has won the award for best actress. Additionally, music composer GV Prakash Kumar has won the National Award for the best background score in Soorarai Pottru. The movie's director Sudha Kongara and screenwriter Shalini Usha Nair won the National Award for best screenplay. 

Soorarai Pottru is inspired by the life of Air Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath and the movie was released in November 2020. In the wake of the Covid lockdown, it directly got released on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was produced by Suriya and Jyothika under their banner 2D Entertainment. The ardent fans of Suriya are in adoration of their favourite icon and movie bringing in new praise and the pictures of the film crew posing for a selfie have gone viral. Suriya and Jyothika were in the spotlight in the midst of a cluster of stars.
