There has been a great deal of anticipation for Suriya's next project which has been tentatively named 'Suriya 42'. Helmed by Siva, the project has recently received tremendous support for its motion poster. While the further excitement grows more, the crew was irked by the fans' leaking images and videos taken on the set. 

In a view of curbing such activities, the movie team released a warning letter on Sunday in which it asked the fans not to indulge in such activities. The makers said, "Please don't share any shooting spot videos and photos about #Suriya42." The project is being made on a huge budget and features a fairly fresh plot for both Suriya and director Siva. 

Bollywood actress Disha Patani will make her Tamil debut by featuring as the female lead in Suriya 42. According to recent reports,  she has already joined the team on set. The movie is being bankrolled by Studio Green and UV Creations, who made a serious statement about picture leaks on social media and after the shocking leakages of the photos and videos, the makers have made a serious statement. 

Studio Green released a statement in which the production house has penned a serious note to the fans asking them not to share the pictures and videos. It wrote, "A humble request to everyone. We have noticed that few are sharing Videos and Pictures from the shooting sets of our upcoming production #Suriya42. Every single work involves the blood and sweat of the entire team. We want to gift this movie as a grand theatrical experience to everyone." 

"It would be a great favour if you delete/ remove the published videos and pictures, and we request not to share the same in the future. We would also like to inform you that strict legal actions under 'Copyrights Infringement' will be taken against the ones who continue to do so", Studio Green added. The first stage of shooting reportedly took place in Chennai for five days. 

The second phase of filming for the movie is currently taking place in Goa. The recently released motion poster for the film depicts the actor in the roles of Arathar, Venkatar, Mandangar, Mukattar, and Perumanathar. It is the first time that Suriya and Siva have collaborated with each other. While Suriya plays the lead role, Disha Patani is playing the female lead, and Redin Kingsley, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, and Anand Raj would also appear in the movie. 

Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for Suriya 42 and it will be the first movie for Suriya to get released in ten Indian languages. Vetri Palanisamy is in charge of cinematography and  Richard Kevin will take care of editing. It has been reported that Suriya 42 is being made on a budget of Rs 200 crore.
