V K Sasikala, 66 years old, a close confidante of late J Jayalalithaa, who is lodged in the Parappana Agrahara central prison in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in a case of accumulation of assets, is officially released today (Jan., 27).
On Monday, Victoria Hospital has issued an update concerning Sasikala's health condition in which it had said that Sasikala is doing stable and the COVID-19 infection has been getting reduced.
She was tested positive for the viral infection on Thursday and she has been getting treated at COVID-19 Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Victoria Hospital.
The reports say that based on the request, Sasikala would be shifted to Manipal Hospital for higher treatments on Friday as she has been battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the media on Friday, the Superintendent of Victoria Hospital claimed that Sasikala has been doing stable and responding well to the treatments.
Sasikala would be getting released on January 27 and on Wednesday, she complained of breathing difficulty following which the prison authorities had rushed her to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in the city.
Her sudden hospitalization days ahead of her release had shocked her family members and some of her family members had gone to Bangalore hospital to visit her.
The development has come a day after it was officially confirmed that she will be walking out of the prison on January 27, ahead of the crucial Tamil Nadu assembly polls
