V K Sasikala, 66 years old, a close confidante of late J Jayalalithaa, who is lodged in the Parappana Agrahara central prison in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in a case of accumulation of assets, is officially released today (Jan., 27). 
 
She was initially lodged in jail on February 15, 2017, for the case regarding hoarding wealth. Last week, she was reported that she had sudden suffocation in prison. and was confirmed that she was infected with the coronavirus.  
 
Meanwhile, Sasikala's four-year sentence expires today, according to Karnataka Prisons Act. It is said that after the lunch break, Sasikala will be formally released by the prison administration. The police protection will be withdrawn then. At the same time, Sasikala is currently staying in Bangalore for the next few days. Corona is scheduled to be tested again tomorrow (Thursday) after being released today.
