He further noted that the party could have won the recently-held assembly polls if his analysis was taken. But the leadership had ignored them the party didn't see value in the IT wing.
The audio clip has been going viral as it has come a day after the mass firing at the ADMK as Palaniswami and Panneerselvam had fired 17 members including a former ADMK minister.
The ADMK leadership has on Monday expelled 16 party leaders including a former minister and a former MP for speaking with Sasikala and supporting her political comeback.
Besides asserting that Sasikala will never be allowed to enter the party, Shanmugam has gone to the next level and lodged a police complaint against her.
As Palaniswami has recently been elected as the Leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu assembly, the party is all set to elect the deputy leader of the opposition.
While Palaniswami has been becoming the power-centric in the party, controversial posters in Tamil Nadu had blamed Palaniswami for the party's defeat in the recently-held state assembly polls.
Palaniswami said, "Sasikala is not a member of ADMK and doesn't exercise any links with the party. ADMK's deputy coordinator KP Munusamy and I had made it very clear."
The Congress leader further said that BJP MP Thakur, who won the Lok Sabha polls from Bhopal with a huge margin, was also missing during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
