EPS breaks silence on VK Sasikala's political comeback...Here's what he said!

As expelled ADMK leader VK Sasikala has stirred a fresh dispute in the party over her political comeback with the assertions of meeting the party members soon, party's joint coordinator and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has broken his silence and opened up about the efforts taken by the expelled leader for making a political resurgence.

The latest dispute amid the party's incessant furores has come through the leaked audio of Sasikala's phone call in which she can be heard saying to the speculated party members of ADMK and affirming that she will be coming to politics and would take over the party. She had vowed that she would drive the party on the path laid by 'Thalaivar' (ADMK's founder MG Ramachandran) and 'Amma' (J Jayalalithaa). She says to a cadre over the phone, "I will come and set things right in the party and take it on Thalaivar's and Amma's path. So many of you cadres have reposed faith in me. I will definitely not let you down. I will come back soon."

She further asserted that the party cadres are with her and she will strengthen the party with their support. With her audio clip doing rounds on social media by sparking the political debate, Edappadi Palaniswami has on Friday convened a high-level meeting with the senior party leaders. Party's coordinator Panneerselvam had boycotted the meet and while it was said that the meeting had discussed the party's debacle in Chennai in the polls, the sources said Sasikala's bid for a political comeback was also on the agenda.

Edappadi Palaniswami signalled that he will do whatever he can to barricade Sasikala's entry into the party. While addressing the reporters after the meeting, Palaniswami said that ADMK's stand is that VK Sasikala and her relatives don't have a place in the party and said that Sasikala's efforts would not succeed. He further claimed that Sasikala had released the audio to create chaos in the party.

Palaniswami said, "Sasikala is not a member of ADMK and doesn't exercise any links with the party. ADMK's deputy coordinator KP Munusamy and I had made it very clear." He said that the ADMK members, functionaries, and cadres at all levels are clear that Sasikala has no place in the party. He had further said that Sasikala had already announced that she will be staying away from active politics.

When asked about Sasikala's phone call to the ADMK members, Palaniswami said that she is speaking with the members of AMMK which is led by her nephew TTV Dhinakaran and not with the ADMK members. The former Chief Minister said that there is no proof that Sasikala is interacting with the ADMK members. "With an intention to create confusion, audio clips of Sasikala's conversations with her loyalists have been leaked", Palaniswami added.

Palansiwami said that the ADMK party is functioning as the Opposition party today but some people are intentionally trying to create confusion through circulating the recorded conversations, which would not succeed. While responding to a question on why Panneerselvam had boycotted the meeting, Palaniswami said that Panneerselvam didn't attend the meeting as he had a house warming function on Friday and the former Chief Minister affirmed that he has no dissent and difference of opinion with Panneerselvam.
