The state has recorded the second-highest single-day rise exactly a day prior to the commencement of the 12-day lockdown imposed by the government in Chennai and its three adjacent districts.

His death has marked the vulnerability being faced by the police officers in the state in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The state would see a sign of flattening the curve of COVID-19 if the spread at these four districts is successfully contained.

In the albeit of having the high number of COVID-19 tests in the country, the experts call the Tamil Nadu government to ramp up the testing in Chennai than what it has been doing currently.

The state government has been hoping to end June month with the signs of flattening the curve of COVID-19 affected cases in these four active hotspots, with Chennai being a major challenge for the state. 

The team claimed that the body was packed as per the protocols and kept on the bed for clearance from the Resident Medical Officer for shifting the deceased to the mortuary.

By this time on June 12, the state had recorded the death toll of 367 and in the span of five days, the state has added about 200 deaths to its count.

Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had placed his condolences to Damodharan's family and he also assured a government job for one of the family members of the deceased. 

This free-of-cost online coaching classes for the students would be conducted at 412 centers across the state and around 7,500 students have registered for the classes so far. 

According to the order, these four districts have been reporting soaring cases because of the dense and congested population and houses that stay in close proximity.
