TN Govt launches free NEET online coaching classes: How it will help the students?

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, the Tamil Nadu state government has launched the platform for free NEET online coaching classes for students in the state who are preparing to appear for the next NEET exams (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has virtually inaugurated the free online coaching for the Centralized entrance exam on Wednesday - June 17, in the Chief Secretariat, Chennai, and the inauguration has come days after the state government has approved the ordinance of providing quota for the students who have completed their studies in government schools in the state to pursue MBBS seats after qualifying the entrance exam.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of School Education Minister Sengottaiyan, Chief Secretary to Government Shanmugam, and the officials from the school education department. This free-of-cost online coaching classes for the students would be conducted at 412 centers across the state and around 7,500 students have registered for the classes so far. 

According to the government, the online classes will be conducted every day for four hours following which the students would undergo practice tests for four hours in the subjects including Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics and along with the coaching classes, the students would have the sessions for mock tests, revision tests, and unit tests with the view of enhancing their skills and abilities to appear for the NEET exams.

The online coaching platform that has been developed in the collaboration between the Tamil Nadu Department of School Education and Amphisoft Technologies (E-box) to provide free coaching class, it aims to bring both Tamil and English medium students under one roof to equip them for the examination. 

The registration for the online classes commenced last month and the online classes would run for 35 days and the students would be appearing for NEET exam on July 26th, 2020 as the examination was deferred by the Center in the wake of the lockdown and the state school education department has trained the teachers for over weeks to offer NEET coaching online for the students, as they have been facing hindrance over attending the coaching institutions in the wake of the lockdown amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
