The major announcement from Vijayakanth has come a day after the similar decision taken by the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) that it will contest the polls independently by exiting the ADMK alliance. 

Vijayakanth had arrived at the Chennai airport in a wheelchair and in a video, he can be seen with a face cover as his assistants had taken him into the terminal. 

It has become the fourth front in the Tamil Nadu polls after the ADMK-led alliance, DMK-led alliance, and Kamal Haasan- Sarathkumar- IJK alliance. 

With no positive signs to form an alliance, DMDK is surfaced with questions of whether the party is brave-enough to annul its demand of making Vijayakanth the Chief Minister to form an alliance. 

As the DMDK members are celebrating the decision, ADMK and BJP have been appealing to Vijayakanth to reconsider his decision. 

In line with Sasikala's decision of staying off from politics, the DMDK's decision to quit the ADMK alliance has become one of the major political twists that were unfolded in Tami Nadu ahead of the polls. 

However, DMDK has been displaying a fashion that it will not exercise alliance with ADMK if its demand is not met.
