The first installment of Ponniyin Selvan, crowned as a maverick film of Kollywood, opened to favorable reviews and raked in more than Rs 500 crore at the box office.

With a budget of 500 crores in making two parts of this epic periodic drama, the second part of 'Ponniyin Selvan' is expected to hit the big screens in the early half of 2023.

The movie has an ensemble cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played important roles.

Ponniyin Selvan comes with two parts and the first part has got released on September 30 and it was huge blockbuster with a positive word of mouth. 

On Wednesday - October 19, Lyca Productions, which bankrolled Ponniyin Selvan, shared that the movie has grossed over Rs 450 crores worldwide.

The first part of Ponniyin Selvan, the masterwork, the tale of the cholas, and the visionary undertaking of master filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is roaringly setting new records every day.

The official announcement regarding the reunion is expected to be unveiled soon and the buzz, which has become the talk of the town, is going viral on social media. 

The iconic movie, which was released on September 30th, is currently in its second week of showings in theatres with a full house of watchers.
