Speculations were rife for the past few days over the release of the teaser of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan.

Lyca Productions, which bankrolls the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan -1', revealed the most awaited look of Kundhavai, the Princess of Chola.

Her character poster was released on Wednesday in the midst of growing avidity among the fans to relish the movie, which has been a dream project for Kollywood.

On Monday - July 4, the movie team has unveiled the character poster of actor Vikram, who will be playing the role of 'Aditya Karikalan'. 

Two days after the movie team released the motion poster, the makers have on Monday - July 4 unveiled the character poster. 

The Himalayan project has been divided into two and the first part 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' (PS-1) has been slated for a theatrical release on September 30.

The first part of the movie has been slated for a theatrical release this September and the team's historical voyage has now been centred on the post-production works. 

The movie comes with the ensemble cast as the prominent icons of the Indian cinema will be a part of achieving the dream of filming Ponniyin Selvan.

The production house will also be taking new ideas from young filmmakers to make anthologies, series, and shows for OTT platforms like Amazon Prime and Netflix. 

The movie is based on Kalki's popular Tamil novel of the same name 'Ponniyin Selvan' and it features a prominent casting of the star icons of South India.
