Trade analysts predict that Maaveeran will cross Rs 100 crore at the end of the second week, making it Sivakarthikeyan’s third 100 crore grosser after Doctor and Don.
The film, directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela fame, is an action thriller that revolves around a cartoonist who gets entangled in a mysterious conspiracy.
The trailer showed Sivakarthikeyan looking up at the sky frequently, as if he was listening to someone. This sparked curiosity among the fans, who wondered who was the voice behind the unseen character.
For fate takes a wicked twist as our cartoonist finds himself transforming into this very second self sporadically, landing him in a world of trouble, pitted against powerful adversaries.
The film also marks the debut of Aditi Shankar, daughter of director Shankar, as the female lead. The star cast also includes Mysskin, Saritha, Sunil and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.
