The relaxations had come to effect earlier this week and as the sequel, the city has seen a rise in the surge in violations of traffic rules. 

MK Stalin said that if people follow the norms, the state could move ahead and permit public transport and reopen schools and colleges in the state. 

The opposition alliance including ADMK, BJP, and PMK had vehemently voiced against MK Stalin's decision of reopening the state-run liquor shops.

The fresh phase of the lockdown extension has been announced with major relaxations across the state with permitting the resumption of various establishments including TASMAC shops. 

The pandemic and the lockdown triggered by the virus outbreak have been adversely impacting the livelihoods of many people as they have been bracing up financial distress.

The rumoured couple of Bollywood was booked by Mumbai Police for defying the restrictions when they were returning from a gym session. 

The fresh phase of the lockdown has come with scores of relaxations as most of the districts in the state had reported a decline in COVID-19 cases. 

With the suggestions from the experts, Stalin can permit the resumptions of essential shops but Tamil Nadu is not close to enjoying a complete scale of relaxations. 

The government has also clarified that the existing system of supplying fruits and vegetables to the homes through the horticulture department will continue functioning across the state next week. 

Along with resuming the ration shops, the government has also allowed the movement of the banking staff on two-wheelers during the week-long lockdown.
