Top Bollywood stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani had invited trouble for violating the lockdown imposed in Mumbai to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. The rumoured couple of Bollywood was booked by Mumbai Police for defying the restrictions when they were returning from a gym session.
According to reports, the actors were reportedly found roaming at Mumbai's Bandstand Promenada without any valid reason. The state government has imposed the lockdown in Maharashtra till June 15 with strict restrictions and surveillance. The government has deployed police personnel across the state to enforce the lockdown and to intensify the vehicle checks amid battling the pandemic.
The government has restricted the movement of people after 2 pm and only allowed the movement of emergency services. However, Shroff and Patani had defied the restrictions post which the police had booked a case against them. According to ANI, An FIR has been registered against actors Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, and others for violating COVID-19 restrictions."
"The actors were found roaming at Bandstand Promenade and couldn't give valid reasons for being out of their homes after 2 pm", ANI had reported. Disha and Shroff were reportedly in their car, driving around their neighbourhood when few police personnel had stopped them for checking. While Shroff was sitting at the back, Disha was sitting at the front.
The reports say that the police had checked their Aadhar cards and booked a case against them. After booking a case, Mumbai police took to Twitter, and without mentioning the names of the actors, the department said that in the ongoing war against the virus, going 'Malang' on the streets of Bandra cost dearly to two actors who have been booked under sections 34 and 188 of the Indian Penal Code by Bandra Police station. The police department had further requested the residents of Mumbai to avoid violating the restrictions.
