After the success of Vikram, Lokesh Kanagaraj returns to the director's chair. Since the film's announcement was made, it has been strongly speculated that Trisha to play one of the lead in the film, and it comes on the heels of Kuruvi commercial and critical success in 2009. Hence the final official confirmation from the makers has now cleared the air.

In the fashion of revealing the casts of Thalapathy67 in grand manner of posters since yesterday, fans get the happy news finally that Trisha has been the leading lady of this sensational venture. This marks the actress to mark her return to pairing with Vijay after 14 years.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Seven Screen Studios reveals the update where they wrote, "After 14 years, Get ready to meet the sensational on-screen pair once again" They also shared a one minute montage video which covers the highlights from the pair's previous works together and the video ended with the announcement of their fifth film Thalapathy67. They worked together back in Kuruvi, Aathi, Ghilli, Thirupatchi.

With her ever-charming smile and the words, the actress gives off a dazed look in the revealed poster, she says, "Grateful to be part of this iconic project featuring all my favorite people and an immensely talented team. Exciting times ahead." So far Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sandy and Mathew Thomas names were revealed.

The film's shooting has began on 2nd January 2023 as per reports and the team is currently shooting the crucial portions in Kashmir. Philomin Raj took charge of Editing, and N. Sathees Kumar handles the art, Produced by S S Lalit Kumar and Co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy, the film has the music composed by Anirudh Ravichander who already done for the director's Vikram and Master.
