Vijay's Master completes 3 Years! Makers join the celebration...

Fans at Pongal 2021 witnessed their favourite star Vijay in a uber-cool Master avatar, which hit the screens after a long delay due to the pandemic and shattered all the records in 2021. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, and Arjun Das, was a mass entertainer that showcased the clash between a college professor and a ruthless gangster.

Now this day marks the film's third year anniversary and the makers of the film took to X, to share a new poster from the film and celebrate its anniversary. The poster featured Vijay in his iconic pose with a caption that read, “Let me tell a kutty story. Celebrating 3 years of #ThalapathyVijay’s #Master. A movie close to the hearts of the entire cast, crew, and fans. After almost a year of waiting for its theatrical release, witnessed Vaathi’s Raidu’ in theaters, and the rest is history.”

The fans who are fondly called as Thalapathy fans, also joined the celebration and trended the hashtag #3YearsOfMaster on social media. They expressed their love and admiration for the film and the star, and recalled their memories of watching the film in theaters. Some of them even shared videos of the crowd reactions and the mass scenes from the film.

Master was not only a blockbuster in Tamil Nadu, but also in other states and countries. The film was dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, and released in over 1000 screens across India. It also had a successful run in overseas markets like Australia, Singapore, UAE, and USA. Master made on a budget of around 150 crores, and witnessed the victory by collecting more than 220 crores.

The film was praised for its engaging screenplay, stunning cinematography, electrifying music, and stellar performances by the lead actors. Lokesh Kanagaraj, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed Maanagaram, proved his mettle as a director with Master. He managed to balance the commercial elements and the artistic vision, and delivered a film that satisfied both the masses and the classes.

He is currently working on his next project, Thalaivar 171, which stars none other than the superstar Rajinikanth. The film is expected to be another blockbuster from the young filmmaker. Vijay, on the other hand, is busy with his upcoming film, GOAT, which is directed by Venkat Prabhu.

The film is said to be a sci-fi actioner, where Vijay plays a dual role. The film also stars Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, SJ Suryah, Premji and others in pivotal roles. Vijay also has Leo 2, with Lokesh Kanagaraj, which will go later as both were busy with their current projects.
