Vijay's LEO sets new records with its massive Overseas deal! Here's what we know

The shooting of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo is progressing at a brisk pace and the team has recently wrapped up a major schedule in Kashmir. The next schedule has commenced in Chennai and the climax portion is said to be wrapped up in Hyderabad. Leo has made a total of Rs 246 crore from digital rights, satellite rights, and music rights, in a staggering deal that has sent waves throughout the Tamil film industry, Phars Films has reportedly acquired the overseas distribution rights.

And it bought the highly anticipated film for a record-breaking price of 60 crores. This marks a significant milestone for the film's lead actor. Insiders have disclosed that not only is the whopping 60 crore overseas deal for LEO the highest ever recorded in Tamil cinema history, but it also stands as the second-highest in all of South India. Only the much-awaited Salaar, helmed by Prabhas and directed by Prashant Neel, is predicted to exceed LEO's record-breaking achievement.

The production of the film presumably cost around Rs 250 crore, and it has already made an astounding Rs 246 crore at the box office. The movie already made Rs 150 crore from its digital rights, Rs 80 crore from its satellite rights, and Rs 16 crore from its music rights. Sun Tv bought the satellite rights and Netflix has bought the digital streaming rights.

The hype surrounding LEO has been steadily building, and the unprecedented price tag attached to the film's overseas distribution rights is a testament to its buzz and potential box office success.
