The duo of Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil is back with a bang in their new film Maareesan, a road-comedy drama directed by Sudish Shankar. The film, which has the tagline “The Hunt begins today”, is set to take the audience on an intriguing ride across the country, as the two actors play leads together.

Maareesan, which marks the 98th production venture of RB Choudhary’s Super Good Films, has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, The film also boasts of a star-studded supporting cast, which makers yet to be announced soon.

The film’s shoot commenced today with a pooja ceremony, which was attended by the cast and crew, along with some special guests from the industry. The makers have planned to shoot the film in various locations across the state.

Maareesan is the second film that brings together Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil, after their successful outing in Mamannan, a political satire directed by Mari Selvaraj. Mamannan was a blockbuster hit at the box office and also won critical acclaim for its sharp commentary and powerful dialogues. The fans of the two actors are eagerly waiting to see them share the screen again in Maareesan, which promises to be a laugh riot with a twist. The film is expected to be released later this year.
