Thalapathy rules 2020! 'Master' Vijay sets another 'big' milestone: Exciting news for fans!

Thalapathy Vijay's 'Master' is yet to get released and while the fans are eagerly waiting for its trailer which is speculated to get unveiled later this month, the actor and the movie have been creating milestones in an unprecedented fashion that no other movie had bagged even before the release. 

'Master' is done and it's just days away to get released on the big screens and while it was expected to hit the theaters in April 2020, the release has got deferred in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and restrictions. As the fans had embraced unprecedented delay in the release of the movie, they, however, didn't lose their hope, expectations, and love for the actor to watch him on the big screens and the latest report from Twitter India had revealed how Vijay and Master had ruled 2020 amid the pandemic. 

As the sequel of the lockdown, India stayed connected online as millions were confined to their residences, which pushed them to get exposed to social media and OTT platforms. With social media being the only option to stay with the external world, Indians were active on these sites and they trended multiple topics on every channel and placed their opinions. As we are nearing to close the unwelcoming year, Twitter India had now shared relishing news for Vijay fans in welcoming the new year.  

Twitter has been releasing the most trended topics in India in 2020  under the hashtag #ThisHappened2020 and on Monday, the social media giant had released the most Tweeted about movies in 2020. It has unveiled the top ten movies under this category and Vijay's 'Master' has topped the list by becoming the most Tweeted about movies in the year while Tollywood movie 'Vakeel Saab', starred by Pawan Kalyan, has been ranked second in the list. 

Following 'Vakeel Saab', Ajith's upcoming 'Valimai' has been ranked third in the list while Mahesh Babu starred 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' and Suriya starred 'Soorarai Pottru' were placed in fourth and fifth ranks respectively. 'Baahubali' fame Rajamouli's upcoming movie 'RRR' has been declared as the sixth most tweeted-about movie in India and Allu Arjun starred 'Pushpa' has ranked seventh in the list. Mahesh Babu starred 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' has been ranked eighth in the list.

Following Sarileru Neekevvaru, KGF Chapter 2 and Superstar starred 'Darbar' have been placed at the ninth and tenth places respectively. The list had relished the fans of the actors as five movies in the list are yet to get released. It must be noted that the list only has South Indian movies from Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. On the other hand, Twitter has also unveiled the list of 2020 Most Tweeted about actors both male and female. In the list of the most Tweeted male actor, Mahesh Babu had ranked first in the list and Pawan Kalyan had ranked second. 

Following Pawan Kalyan, Actor Vijay has been declared as the third most Tweeted about actor in 2020 while Junior NTR has been ranked fourth. With the grand success of 'Soorarai Pottru', Suriya has been ranked at fifth place and Allu Arjun and Ram Charan were ranked sixth and seventh places respectively while Kollywood star Dhanush was ranked eighth in the list and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi were ranked at the ninth and tenth places respectively. 

In the category of the most Tweeted about female actors in 2020, Keerthy Suresh was ranked in the first place, and Kajal Aggarwal was ranked second. Following Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, Rashmika, Pooja Hedge, Taapsee, Tamannah, Rakul Preet, Shruti Haasan, and Trisha had occupied the top ten list by becoming the most tweeted about female actors. Twitter has been stretching its wings across India with more young generations becoming active users and as the country was under the new and virtual normal, Twitter had revealed how India spent its time throughout the year. 

Vijay's 'Master' has added this milestone to its list of huge recognition as earlier, Twitter has released the list of most liked, retweeted, and quoted Tweets in 2020. Vijay's surprise selfie with his fans in February 2020 has become the most retweeted Tweet in India and his fans are celebrating these recognitions for the actor while the teaser of his upcoming 'Master' has created the record by becoming the most liked teaser on Youtube in India which perfectly captured how Thalapathy's fans are waiting for the release. While it has been speculated that the movie's trailer could get released on New Year, the movie has been slated for release during the second week of January 2021.
