Thalaivar 171 Buzz: Lokesh Kanagaraj to rope in this sensational south icon for a cameo role!

The upcoming film Thalaivar 171, which marks the first collaboration between superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The film, which is expected to be a mass entertainer with a strong social message, has already completed its photoshoot and test shoot in Chennai.

The makers are yet to reveal the official title and the cast of the film, but according to some sources, they have approached Kannada star Yash for a cameo role in the film. Yash, who rose to fame with his blockbuster KGF series, is said to be in talks with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a special appearance in Thalaivar 171.

A source close to the film told a popular web portal, that Lokesh is keen to have Yash on board as he feels that his presence will add more value to the film. The source also said that Yash is a huge fan of Rajinikanth and he would love to share screen space with him if everything falls into place.

If this news turns out to be true, then it will be a treat for the fans of both Rajinikanth and Yash, as they will get to see two superstars from different industries together on the big screen. The combination of Rajinikanth’s charisma and Yash’s style will surely set the screen on fire. However, there is no official confirmation from either side yet and we will have to wait for an official announcement from the makers.

Thalaivar 171 is produced by Sun Pictures, who reportedly won the rights for the project after a tough competition from several other production houses. The film is expected to go on floors soon after Rajinikanth wraps up his current project Thalaivar 170, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The music for Thalaivar 171 will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously worked with Rajinikanth in Petta and Darbar.

Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with his upcoming film Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. The film is slated to release in October this year. He also has Kaithi 2 with Karthi, Vikram 3 with Kamal Haasan and a few other projects in his kitty.

Rajinikanth, on the other hand, will be seen next in Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. He also has a pivotal role in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam, co-starring Jeevitha, Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal.
