The makers have obtained the permission and cooperation of Vijayakanth’s family and have used his old footage, photos, and voice samples to create a realistic and respectful portrayal of the actor.

The actor, visibly moved, found solace in prayer and broke down in tears as he bid farewell to the senior actor.

A complaint was filed by K Appunu, the South Chennai district head of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, the fan club of the actor.

Sharing his eulogy on social media, the Prime Minister wrote, "I have lost a dear friend. Penned a few thoughts on Captain and why he was special."

The cinematography will be handled by Siddharth Nuni, while the editing will be done by Venkat Raajen.

As the reel of life played on, it took with it some of the most iconic names that graced the silver screen, leaving behind memories we couldn't get from it.

As Vijayakanth's era has come to an end, Chief Minister MK Stalin took to social media and wrote, "You will live in our hearts forever, my friend." 

Vijayakanth, who was fondly called 'Captain' by his fans and followers, has breathed his last on Thursday at the age of 71 in Chennai due to pneumonia. 

However, the emotional moment turned into a shocking incident when a slipper was hurled at Vijay by an unidentified person from the crowd, as he departed from the funeral.

His peers and rivals also respected him, and acknowledged his contribution to the state’s development and welfare.
