The Greatest Of All Time, or The GOAT, is the upcoming sci-fi action thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu, starring Vijay in dual roles. The film has been making headlines for its star-studded cast, its political undertones, and its ambitious use of AI technology to bring back the late Vijayakanth on screen.

Vijayakanth, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 71, was a legendary actor and politician who had a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu. He was also a mentor to Vijay, who started his career as a child artist in Vijayakanth’s films. To pay tribute to his guru, Vijay reportedly suggested to Venkat Prabhu to include a cameo appearance of Vijayakanth in The GOAT, using AI to generate his character.

According to sources, the makers of The GOAT have obtained the permission and cooperation of Vijayakanth’s family and have used his old footage, photos, and voice samples to create a realistic and respectful portrayal of the actor. The cameo role is said to be pivotal to the plot and will have a surprise element for the fans.

The GOAT is not just a tribute to Vijayakanth, but also a celebration of Tamil cinema, as it features a host of veteran and 90s popular actors such as Mohan, Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, where Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer among others to play key roles.

The film’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has collaborated with Venkat Prabhu many times. The cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni, and the film is produced by AGS Productions, one of the leading banners in the industry. The GOAT is slated to release this year. The film’s teaser and first look poster have already created a huge buzz among the audience and the critics.
