Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is working on the next film with Vijay, was spotted at the FDFS show, and the paparazzi seized the chance to inquire him about Thalapathy 67.

Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thunivu tossed a big fight as they hit the theatres at the same time, the time which is extremely rare and special for the ardent fans.

And pictures and videos of Varisu team Dil Raju, S. Thaman, Shaam goes viral on social media. In the video, the composer of the film also seen tearing up in the heat of the moment.

Iconic actor Vijay took his ardent fans by surprise as, for the first time in his career, he has released the trailer of another flick on Tuesday - January 10.

The order has come as a shock to the fans and the theatres as the exhibitors have already planned to screen early morning shows to have a good fill in the coffers and to manage the influx of the fans.

The movie's story is co-written by Ahishor Solomon along with Vamshi Paidipally,  Karthik Palani handled the camera while KL Praveen handled the edits.

It's worth noting that the venture will have to contend with Ajith's Thunivu, which is also being released in Telugu under the name Thegimpu.

The censor board gave Thunivu a UA rating and a runtime of 2 hours and 26 minutes, while Vijay starrer Varisu, has a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes. The CBFC board recently gave it a U rating.

Mourning his loss, Varisu's director Vamshi Paidipally wrote, "You have left a void Sunil Sir...You have been a Brother and a soulmate."

Now that it's been moved up to Wednesday, fans of both films are celebrating, but the box office battle hasn't changed.
