It's official: Varisu's Telugu release is postponed...Check out Dil Raju's announcement and the reason behind it!

While the Telugu version of Vijay's upcoming film, titled Vaarasudu was earlier planned for the release on January 11 along with the original Tamil version Varisu, a fresh release date has been shared from the makers side in the twisting development. The film's producer Dil Raju at the press conference for the film stated that they want the audience to watch their Telugu heroes' films first.

The makers shared the official release date of Telugu version while the Tamil version will be hit theatres on January 11 2023. Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations backing up the Vijay's first trilingual project, where the music composed by S. Thaman. Now Dil Raju has confirmed that the release date of 'Vaarasudu' will be January 14 as one of two major Telugu films set for release in celebration of Sankranti.

He stated that the Telugu release of Varisu could be impacted by the January 12 and 13 releases of Walter Veeraiya starring Chiranjeevi and Veera Simha Reddy starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. At the press conference, he stated, "We want the audience to watch our Telugu star hero films, Veera Simha Reddy & Waltair Veerayya in theatres first, that is why releasing Vaarasudu in theatres on 14th January."

Dil Raju further said, "I have said many times that Vaarasudu is not in any competition with Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy. Vaarasudu is a complete family entertainer. I have showed family entertainers in the past for Sankranthi, so with the same thought I wanted to release Vaarasudu. But Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi garu need a huge release in Telugu states, so I took this decision positively to release my film later."

On January 12th, Veera Simha Reddy will hit in theatres. In addition, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar plays the antagonist role, and  Shruti Haasan plays the leading lady. The film produced by Mythri Movie Makers, where it met with high anticipation, and the postponment of Varusudu has given Balayya film an enormous head start on its competition on opening day.

And on January 13th, Waltair Veerayya, starring Chiranjeevi, will be released in theatres. So, as of this update, the Telugu version of Varisu will now be available on January 14th.  It's worth noting that the venture will have to contend with Ajith's Thunivu, which is also being released in Telugu under the name Thegimpu.

Vaarasudu, starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, is a lighthearted film suited for the whole family. The film featured Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Sam, Sangeeta, Jayasudha, and Khushboo in starring roles. The central theme of the film is how a son mends his family's wounds when his father's firm gets clawed from the bad guy.
