In his official statement, Simbu has confirmed that his father is being taken abroad. The actor asserted that his father is doing fine and will meet everyone soon. 

The movie team was planning to rope in director Shankar's daughter Aditi in the female lead and Fahadh Faasil as an antagonist. The movie was said to be produced by Isari Ganesh. 

Thanks to the distinct storyline and the cast that have been fueling the movie on the competitive track.

Simbu has shared the video on Twitter and wrote, "Hope this journey of mine inspires countless more...God bless."

With the success of Maanaadu, Simbu is busy with several projects and currently, he is in outing with Gautham Vasudev Menon's 'Venduthaninthathu Kaadu' and Obeli N Krishna's 'Pathu Thala'.

Simbu has various projects in his kitty and the Kollywood is buzzed up with a toss of Simbu's unification with a popular director for his next project. 

Vels University has decided to honour Simbu with a doctorate for his distinguished excellence in the field of cinema.

Simbu was awarded the honorary doctorate by Vels University in Chennai and the actor was one among the three recipients of the honour.

Simbu was lastly seen in Maanaadu, which had become one of the blockbuster movies of 2021. Bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi, the movie was directed by Venkat Prabhu.
