Based on her statement and complaint filed by the hospital, the Washermenpet all-women police have arrested the girl's mother.

The police had filed an FIR against constable Murugan under Section 376- rape of the IPC. 

Days after her death, the teacher has now committed suicide after he was suspected of harassing the girl. 

As the protests grow, the Coimbatore police have on Saturday booked a case against the school principal, Meera Jackson, under the POCSO Act in line with Mithun Chakravarthy.

On the other hand, the school principal had denied the allegations and claimed that the accused teacher Mithun Chakravarthy had resigned in September due to medical issues.

The police had filed a case under the POSCO Act against the accused teacher and retrieved the suicide note.

An FIR was filed against him based on the complaint moved by a fellow citizen to the police with the help of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. 

After witnessing incessant torture for her daughter, 10-year-old's mother had approached the All Women Police Station in Vaniyambadi to lodge a complaint against her husband for harassing her daughter.

The arrest has come after several former and current students of the school had made a barrage of sexual allegations against him through their petition to the school management.

Several notable figures including Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman, Anirudh, GV Prakash, Saindavi, Harini, and Harish Raghavendra are alumni of the school.
