Shobana was working at Zoho Corporation and after learing about her demise, Zoho's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sridhar Vembu said that the bad roads have caused a tragic loss to her family and Zoho. 

The women were working in a leading IT firm and while one of them died on the spot after the accident, the other one died the next day in the hospital. 

She was riding her own two-wheeler and she was hit by the speeding bikers. The severe collision has knocked her down and killed her on the spot. 

Chennai alone has recorded the deaths of 16 students due to footboard travel in the last four years. With this tally, the city has reported more number of such deaths in the state. 

It must be noted that Yunus was seen wearing the helmet during the incident and the reports say that the pothole has caused due to heavy rains.

The driver, who absconded after the incident, was identified as Satheesh Kumar from Perambalur and he was arrested by the police on July 26 - Monday.

Dharmapuri district collector Karthika said that the injured were rushed to the government hospitals in Salem and Dharmapuri districts.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had directed the district collector of Palakkad to provide emergency medical care to the victims of the accident.
