Watch: Shocking accident in Tamil Nadu kills four! Check what happened!

In a dreadful development, the fatal accident of multi-vehicle collision had claimed four lives while dozens have been injured as the visuals from the spot had shocked the state. The accident had happened on the Bengaluru-Salem National Highway on the evening hours of Saturday in the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu. 

According to reports, the unprecedented accident had happened when the highway had witnessed a traffic jam. A cement-laden truck had broken down the road, causing a traffic jam. After knowing the development, the traffic police and Thoppur highway patrol personnel had rushed to the spot and there were clearing the traffic. 

The visuals showed that dozens of vehicles were stuck in heavy traffic during which a trailer truck, that was heading to Salem from Dharmapuri rammed a vehicle moving in front of it, which had led multi-vehicle collision where a total of 12 vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers, had rammed each other. 

The reports say that at least four had died in the collision while several had been injured. Dharmapuri district collector Karthika said that the injured were rushed to the government hospitals in Salem and Dharmapuri districts and the Thoppur police had launched the probe into the incident. The reports further stated that the spot had already witnessed several accidents before that the residents have been demanding the government to construct a flyover. 

According to our sources, the four fatalities were male but their details are yet to be identified. The truck had lost its control and rammed over the vehicles and the CCTV footage was released which had revealed how the incident got unfolded. Following the incident, the driver of the truck had escaped and police have initiated a search operation to detain the driver.
