Pronouning the verdict, the judge noted that this is a rarest of the rare case and that the convict doesn't deserve any sympathy. 

The sadhus have brought a dubious demand to amend POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) law, under which a case was filed against Singh. They also announced they will protest against the POCSO Act. 

A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been filed against the arrested BJP leader.

On Wednesday, the special court bench comprising of Justice Kirubakaran Mathuram pronounced the verdict that Devapitchai was found guilty under the POCSO Act. 

Tamil Nadu's Director-General of Police (DGP) Sylendra Babu has passed a big order to the Tamil Nadu police, directing the officers not to make arrests hastily in these cases.

The police had said that though the girl had named the 12-year-old boy, the officials are investigating whether anyone else was involved in the crime.

The police have apprehended the accused teacher and a case has been registered against him under POCSO Act. 

Following the apprehension, a case was booked against the priest under POCSO Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act. He was then remanded under judicial custody. 

Besides expressing his anguish over the death of the student, the Chief Minister has also pressed that the school administrations should ensure that sexual violence does not occur.

As the protests grow, the Coimbatore police have on Saturday booked a case against the school principal, Meera Jackson, under the POCSO Act in line with Mithun Chakravarthy.
