Dhoni has retired in all forms of cricket in 2020 and he was captaining CSK following his retirement. As he has now handed over the captaincy of CSK, he is no longer the captain of any form of cricket. 

The announcement of transition was made on Thursday -March 24, two days ahead of the commencement of IPL 2022 where the CSK will be opening the season. 

With the new role, Jadeja makes history by becoming the third player to lead CSK after MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, who led the team for a brief tenure.  

Vignesh Shivan further wrote, "This humble man! Was too sweet! Too down to earth and very endearing making every second around him count. One of the major dreams came true."

Earlier this week, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanath has said that CSK did not acquire Suresh Raina as he may not fit in the current team's composition.

The picture of the meeting has been rapidly spread and Vikram has become the second Tamil actor in recent times that MS Dhoni has met.

Countering his allegations, Sampath Kumar also had filed a petition before the court in which he sought the dismissal of Dhoni's defamation lawsuit. 

The IPL 2022 will be breaking the cluster of stars in CSK as the franchise has released some of the crucial players.

MS Dhoni stayed in Dubai as he took over the role of the mentor of the Indian team, that was camped in Dubai for the T20 World Cup.
