Popular Kollywood director Vignesh Shivan has for the first time directed former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni for what was initially believed to be a new movie. It has then come to light that Vignesh Shivan has directed the legendary captain for an advertisement for Chennai Super Kings, the IPL franchise that has been captained by Dhoni.

Dhoni and the team have been gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Ahead of the commencement of the season, a picture of MS Dhoni with director Vignesh Shivan was going viral on social media which had spurred speculations that MS Dhoni is the latest cricketer to enter the Tamil cinema industry after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan. It was said that Dhoni has signed a deal to act in Vignesh Shivan's upcoming movie.

Amid speculations, it was announced that Dhoni had featured in a new advertisement for Chennai Super Kings that was directed by Vignesh Shivan. For the first time after working with Dhoni, Vignesh Shivan has now opened up about his experience of directing the legendary captain. In his Instagram post, the director shared that he said "action" to Dhoni 36 times and has expressed how he felt about achieving a dream.

In his viral post, Vignesh Shivan said, "My favourite story of myself! So many years back... my mom used to be in charge of the security for the IPL cricket players...she being the Inspector of Police, she had the access to all places, I've seen her talk in Tamil to Dwayne Bravo once! Lol...I used to ask her and somehow stand in one corner of Park Sheraton hotel to get a glimpse of my idol MSD!."

"I've followed him all my life...always been an ardent fan and a faraway student! There are times when I have handled situations during shooting...during failures...during success or many other situations...I would just imagine how MSD will react to such a situation...and I would do the same! While working with a team of 100 members every day, You need leadership skills and I've always followed my Idol!" Vignesh Shivan wrote. 

He further said, "Coming back to the mom story...I used to stand for long hours and when he talks and gets into the house I've always wished why can't the bus be parked somewhere longer! One day my mom had a chance a get a pic with MS Dhoni...but I wasn't able to!!! Even she couldn't help me get one even though she had access...So, it's always been a dream for me to meet him...take a pic at least once in my lifetime!" 

"Through an angel, certain good things happened & eventually, whatever I manifested was happening behind me only to get me an opportunity to direct a small video for CSK with my Icon. I said "action" 36 times! Like a little boy counting with his fingers...every time I said action & thanked God and the universe for making me direct the video. Lucky me. And during a short break...I showed him the picture that my mom took, that's the first pic I've posted and then later brought my mom and made her meet him", he added. 

He further wrote, "This humble man! Was too sweet! Too down to earth and very endearing making every second around him count. One of the major dreams came true." Vignesh Shivan has also shared a picture of him with MS Dhoni and it has been getting rampantly spread as the fans express their wishes to the director for making a successful and memorable collaboration with MS Dhoni.
