The World Health Organization (WHO) has on Wednesday said that India has accounted for nearly half of the COVID-19 cases reported worldwide last week.

It has highlighted that about 73 percent of the total list of 180 countries had partially or completely left the freedom of journalists in the mayhem. 

The spike in death toll has surfaced a major concern across the nation and the health ministry said that more than 70 percent of the deaths had occurred due to comorbidities.

The development has come when there have been expectations and demands to the government to inoculate the vaccine for 18 years and above in the wake of heavy infections among young people.
