The Crime Branch - Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) has taken over the probe on Tuesday with accord to the directive of the Madras High Court Madurai Bench.

The emerged visuals had exemplified that the father and son duo neither protested nor rolled on the ground and all the injuries suffered by them, according to the medical records, were due to the police brutality in the prison.

The state government has, on Monday, appealed to the Madras High Court to transfer the case to CBI for further investigation for what the government is yet to admit as custodial deaths.
