The CBI will be launching the probe on Friday and a team of seven CBI officers will be coming to Tamil Nadu to carry out the probe.

The CBI has pitched on the probing grounds and filed two cases against the case of police brutality, which has been under public scrutiny.

Though the CBCID has been on the grounds and detained the police officers behind the death, the state government wished to stick with its decision of bringing CBI to probe the matter.

Following the ban, the volunteers of FoP will be constrained from carrying out police patrolling, arrests, and vehicle checks for at least two months. 

The petitioner said that the Chief Minister issued a statement claiming that the father and son duo were died due to health issues and not due to the police torture.

By arresting Muthuraj, the CBCID had detained five officers so far connected to the case in three days since taking over the probe.

The horrific degree of treatment given to the father and son had strongly spotlighted the police brutality in India.

Inspector General of CB-CID Shankar said that the four police officers have been booked under section 302- murder, 342- punishment for wrongful confinement, and 201 - causing disappearance of evidence under the Indian Penal code.

The family members of the victims had also welcomed the arrests and thanked people for voicing for justice. The family expressed their hope that the accused will be met with the maximum punishments.

The CBCID has been probing the case as per the directive of the High court despite the Tamil Nadu government has transferred the case to the CBI on Monday.
