Vijayakanth, who is 71 years old, has been suffering from various health issues for the past few years. 

The regional centre of IMD in Chennai had given a staunch instruction to the people not to venture out of the homes on December 4 and 5 unless there is an emergency.

They also spoke to the chief doctor who was treating Vijayakanth and got a positive update on his status.

The disturbing scale of rainfall has come days ahead of Cyclone Michaung, which will make a landfall on the northern districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, during the first week of December. 

MIOT hospital issued an official statement stating that Vijayakanth's health condition has been unstable due to which he was put under pulmonary treatment and ventilator support.

The controversy stemmed when Mansoor, who played a brief role in Vijay's last release ‘Leo’, said that he did not share screen space with Trisha, the heroine of the film.

According to a medical report released by Miot Hospital, where Vijayakanth is undergoing treatment, his health is improving but not stable.

It has been reported that the brewing system over the Bay of Bengal would intensify into a depression and would eventually become a cyclone by December 2.
