The DMK government has announced new guidelines and criterium in the scheme as a measure of ensuring that the scheme has fully been benefitting the poor people.

Panneerselvam's wife Vijayalakshmi has passed away on Wednesday - September 1, in Chennai at the age of 63 due to cardiac arrest.

According to our sources, Vijayalakshmi was getting treated at a private hospital in Chennai for a fortnight after she complained of health complications.

The leaders had held dharna on the road which disrupted the movements of vehicles following which they were detained by the Chennai police. 

Tamil Nadu has become the seventh state to oppose the farm laws and pass a resolution of pressing the Union government to repeal them.

The former Chief Minister had opposed a further investigation into the Kodanad case and he had accused the DMK government of attempting to trap him in the case.
