The one and only Superstar Rajinikanth is teaming up with the masterful director Lokesh Kanagaraj for what is sure to be a blockbuster hit - Thalaivar 171! This long-awaited project, which has been in the works for some time, is finally coming to fruition under the banner of Sun Pictures.

The makers of Thalaivar 171 have finally revealed the title, director, and composer, and stunt choreographer along with a stunning poster that promises a high-octane action thriller. Sun Pictures, the production house behind Thalaivar 171, took to X, to make the announcement.

They wrote, “We are happy to announce Superstar @rajinikanth ’s #Thalaivar171 Written & Directed by @Dir_Lokesh An @anirudhofficial musical Action by @anbariv”. They shared a poster that features Rajinikanth in a blood-splattered shirt, holding a gun and looking fierce.

Thalaivar 171 marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is one of the most acclaimed young directors in Tamil cinema. Lokesh is known for his innovative storytelling and thrilling action sequences, which are expected to elevate Thalaivar 171 to a new level. 

The action scenes in Thalaivar 171 will be choreographed by Anbariv, the duo of Anbu and Arivu, who have worked on films like Madras, Kabali, Kaala, KGF: Chapter 1, and Chapter 2. They are known for their realistic and raw stunts that suit the mood and tone of the films they work on. 

Hence the dreamy Kollywood duo can happen, as the Thalaivar 171 might be a part of Lokesh's cinematic universe (LCU) and feature a face-off between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who are both legends and rivals in Tamil cinema. 

The film also reunites Rajinikanth with Anirudh Ravichander, who composed the music for his previous films . His music is sure to add more energy and excitement to Thalaivar 171, as his latest release Jailer, made the historical viral hit among worldwide fans.

The director already confirmed that he will direct another film after Leo, and then he will start working on Kaithi 2. Now it's been confirmed that the Thalaivar 171 is to be on the desk. Thalaivar 171 is expected to go on floors soon and be released in 2024. Adding to this, the audio launch of Leo, Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film, will take place this month, with the trailer set to release soon. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on October 19th, 2023.
