Since its debut, fans have been celebrating Vamshi Paidipally's Varisu, which stars Vijay, with a lot of fiesta and adulation. The family entertainer which debuted on January 11, 2023, starred a slew of on-screen celebrities, including from Jayasudha to Sarath Kumar. When fans were already disappointed to learn that actress-turned-politician Khushboo did not appear in the film, the director lately has revealed that another key scene was excluded.

It was difficult to keep the movie within a certain length at various points, the film's editor Praveen KL admitted earlier in an interview with a well-known media outlet. And he added that John Vijay and Khushboo's portions of the main deleted scenes will possibly be made available on YouTube. Now, the director has confirmed that the Climax scene featuring Prakash Raj and Sarathkumar has also been cut.

Vamshi Paidipally said, "A flashback scene for Sarath Kumar and Prakash Raj showing about their childhood friendship was shot & at last in the film after Vijay's speech Prakash raj will meet Sarathkumar and seek forgiveness. it was one beautiful scene in the film. But unfortunately, the scene was cut keeping the time duration of the film in mind."

The deleted scenes of Varisu also has the scenes of Vijay meeting Prakash Raj at his office, and the deleted Khushbu scene was 17 minutes long, as per film analysts. Producers Dil Raju and Shirish are bankrolling Varisu under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film also released in Hindi and Telugu with titles, Vaaris, and Vaarasudu respectively.
